The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) is a cross Government industry-endorsed team based in the Department for Transport, whose core purpose is to support the eaely market for electric and other ultra low emission vehicles.

In order to stimulate the uptake of electric and plug-in-hybrid vehicles, the Government has introduced a number of grant Funding initiatives (to be managed by OLEV) aimed at the fast-tracking of tens of thousands of EV charing stations throughout the UK.  One of these initiatives, the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme, is aimed at the provision of affordable domestic EV chargers with up to a maximum of £500 per charging unit subsidised via Government Grant.

Wkyes-Group in Carlisle are working with Rolec EV, a major part of this initiative, and as a result, OLEV have approved Rolec's WallPod:EV home charging stations as eligible for the Government Grant Funding from as little as £249 inc.VAT fully installed.

Claim up to £10,000 off the cost of your EV charing points with the Government WCS grant.

The grant allows companies to purchase up to 20 EV charging points at a subsidised cost, with each 2-way charging unit having a £1000 price reduction.  In return, the Government would be given monthly data reports on each EV charging point's usage across the country for the next 3 years, enabling them to better understand the current levels of EV usage and any charging requirement trends throughout the UK in order to make informed future decisions.  These monthly data reports require no effort from the companies under the scheme.
